A reflection on resilience, patience, and divine timing.

There are moments in life when movement is impossible—when grief, loss, or uncertainty hold us in place. It is in these moments, however, that something invisible begins to shape within us. Not through action, but through presence. Not through striving, but through surrender.

This painting was born from one of those moments.

After a deeply personal season of separation and soul-searching, I found myself in a quiet place—externally still, but internally turbulent. In that stillness, I experienced a strange duality: the ache of loss and the peace of divine guidance. This work reflects that paradox.

The Symbolism

The Moose stands tall in the foreground—an animal known for quiet strength and endurance. Its body is rendered in earthy, silvery browns, representing grounded resilience through emotionally cold terrain.

The Background, a wash of Frozen Blue and Faithful Teal, mirrors the emotional environment—cool, deep, introspective. These are the hues of hard-won wisdom and sacred waiting.

The Radiant Gold Sun is the centerpiece of divinity—an ever-present symbol of light, clarity, and warmth breaking through the frost. It represents not just hope, but a guiding presence through darkness.

This piece reflects my belief that we are shaped most profoundly in moments when nothing seems to be happening. Like iron tempered in flame, we are forged in stillness—refined not in motion, but in our willingness to endure and remain open.

What's in the Name?

The phrase came after a conversation with my father. As I recounted the quiet trials of my recent journey, he looked at me and said,

"Big things are happening. Your patience is being tested—you need to have patience."

That truth resonated deeply. I’ve come to believe that patience isn’t passive—it’s an active kind of faith. It’s waiting with hope, trusting that even when nothing seems to be moving, everything is changing.

A Final Thought

Forged in Stillness is a visual prayer. A reminder that stillness isn’t emptiness—it’s sacred ground. And sometimes, the most powerful transformations happen when we wait.

Color Chording

Into the Wild- By @iamlpofficial

Color Chording is the unique process I developed using chord progressions of a song to build a custom color palette. I tied this song into the final concept using the words of the song as a foundation for Forged in Stillness.
